Richard Krajčo and Antonín Kratochvíl on Pendolino train

+ zoomA quite unique meeting took place on 4 May 2006 aboard SC 503 Pendolino train departing from Prague for Ostrava at 7.56 a.m. During the train running from Prague to Ostrava, right in one of the coaches Antonín Kratochvíl, a world famous photographer, was photographing Richard Krajčo, the Czech star – a frontman of Kryštof band and an actor of the National Theater in Prague. Richard Krajčo became the only Czech celebrity photographed by Antonín Kratochvíl during his current visit to the Czech Republic.

“During photographing it is fine when a photographer and a photographed person strike a common chord. Richard is superb – he is a personality I like“, said Antonín Kratochvíl, having met Richard Krajčo aboard the train in the morning.
Neither of them has met ever before and their meeting took place thanks to Czech Railways framing the whole project. Photographing of Richard Krajčo took place on the occasion of the yesterday´s opening of Antonín Kratochvíl´s photograph exhibition, which was opened on a special gallery train at the Prague main railway station. The exhibition called the PERSONA documents on the photographs of famous celebrities from all over the world. And right on SC Pendolino train Antonín Kratochvíl took portrait of Richard Krajčo AS A PERSON ON THE WAY BETWEEN PRAGUE AND OSTRAVA.

“Photos by Antonín Kratochvíl remind me very much photographs by Anton Corbijn taken for U2 or Depeche Mode. I always admired them, and when I saw photographs of Keith Richards or Bono Vox taken by Antonín, I must say that it is quite pleasant to be photographed by Antonín Kratochvíl“, commented Richard Krajčo today´s photographing on SC Pendolino train.
