Czech Pop Legend Karel Gott Rode the Pendolino to a Concert in Vienna
Karel Gott took a ČD high-speed train to his performance in Vienna on Friday, 29 June 2007. Before departing from Prague’s Holešovice Station, he christened his large-format photograph on the train.
“I was very happy to accept ČD’s invitation to travel to Vienna on the Pendolino. I have to say, it’s comfortable and fast. The trip took us just four hours,” declared Karel Gott as he disembarked at the station in Vienna.
Dozens of passengers took advantage of the opportunity to meet Karel Gott personally. During the trip, the singer stamped tickets and gave autographs. People could board the train at Praha-Holešovice, Pardubice, Brno or Břeclav.
Karel Gott isn’t the first famous personality to travel aboard ČD’s modern trains. A little while ago, for example, SC Pendolino passengers had the opportunity to meet singer Richard Krajčo, President Václav Klaus, singer Lucie Bílá and tennis player Tomáš Berdych.
