Václav Havel Travelled to Ostrava on the SC Pendolino

Former Czech President Václav Havel travelled with us from Prague’s Holešovice Station to Ostrava. For his journey, he used 1st class on a SuperCity train, thus adding his name to an extensive gallery of famous personalities who have used the services of SC Pendolino trains.
In Ostrava, Václav Havel was welcomed on behalf of ČD by head stationmaster of Ostrava Main Station Josef Juřeník, and ČD passenger transport representative for the Moravia-Silesia region Miroslav Klich. Václav Havel disembarked at Ostrava Main Station, from where he continued on his journey by car.
Interest in travel on trains operated under the product brand SC Pendolino continues to grow. Especially on days with larger passenger numbers such as Mondays, Fridays and Sundays, the capacity of these connections is normally sold out several days in advance. This is the case, for example, today, when all SC Pendolino trains in the direction from Prague to Ostrava are already practically sold out in both 2nd and 1st class. Just between Prague and Ostrava (in both directions), SC Pendolino connections are used daily by some 2,000-3,000 passengers. On several occasions, especially before long weekends, the number of passengers has jumped to over 3,000.
