Expanded services on ČD trains between Prague and Ostrava
Stewardesses will attend to 1st class passengers on sixteen long-distance connections between Prague and Ostrava. This represents the expansion of a service that we tested successfully in the spring. Stewardesses will distribute the daily press and a hot or cold beverage to passengers free of charge. In addition, they will attend to seating passengers, to their comfort during the journey, and to maintaining basic cleanliness in the carriage. We first presented our stewardesses at the end of January, and tested them on eight connections operating between Prague and Moravia. Thanks to an expansion of the service from 1 September, 1st class passengers will encounter stewardesses on all long-distance EC, IC and Ex connections operating between Prague and Ostrava.
But that’s not the only new development we’re preparing for this route. We’d also like to improve the quality of our gastronomic services on selected connections. In addition to dining carriages, we’ll gradually expand refreshment sales from mini-bars right in your seat, and on SC Pendolino trains we’ll offer the daily press and water free of charge to 2nd class passengers as well. But these new developments are actually just the icing on the cake. The main thing is that we guarantee passengers high-quality carriages and on SC Pendolino trains the unrivalled shortest travel time. Other advantages of the national network carrier include connections between long-distance and regional trains, as well as additional supplementary services. One example is the newly introduced ČD Taxi service, which enables you to get a taxi at Prague Main Station or Ostrava Main Station (as well as Ostrava-Svinov) and the taxi service will provide a guaranteed price and level of service quality upon presentation of a ČD ticket.
