Purchasing tickets via the internet
SuperCity trains save time and bring you new possibilities in the way you buy tickets and seat reservations. You can comfortably buy tickets for SuperCity trains directly from your home or office via the internet. The Czech Railways eShop electronic store is at your service 24 hours per day, and you can buy a ticket up to 60 days in advance, or at the latest 30 minutes before the train’s departure from its departure station.
In the ČD eShop you can buy tickets with seat reservations for SC trains for 1st and 2nd class (price including seat reservations), stand-alone seat reservations for SC trains. The eShop’s offerings are not limited just to tickets for SuperCity trains – you can purchase tickets here for other connections as well.
Purchase a Ticket
The entire purchase is very simple and takes place with the following steps:
- Entry of parameters for connections and passengers
- Selection of connection including price
- Entry of parameters for reservations and other supplementary services
- Recapitulation and entry of passenger names
- Selection of payment method
- Payment by card
- Receive your tickets
The actual card payment takes place through a payment portal secured by the 3-D Secure security technology, which is provided and operated by Global Payments Europe a.s. in cooperation with our partner bank, ČSOB a. s. . Credit card information is always requested directly by the bank and Czech Railways only receives the result of the transaction. All payment cards of the VISA and MasterCard associations are generally accepted, especially the VISA, VISA Electron, MasterCard, Maestro, MasterCard Electronic and MasterCard Unembossed cards. Ask your bank if it possible to use the 3-D Secure technology for payments via the internet, whether you have limits for internet payments and, if so, how high they are. If you do not wish to or cannot use a payment card for payment, you can also pay using the PaySec service. The payment is made by means of a transfer from your PaySec account to ČD’s PaySec account. You can obtain more information about the service on www.paysec.cz. The operator of the service is ČSOB.
After paying, the ticket will be displayed in PDF format directly on your monitor and at the same time you will receive it by e-mail. It is always necessary to print out a ticket to a foreign destination, although you can present an inland ticket for inspection clearly displayed on the monitor of your portable computer (or other electronic device on which sufficient legibility can be ensured). If you are an In-karta cardholder, you can also retrieve a ticket purchased through the ČD eShop at a ticket vending machine or ticket office equipped for electronic sale of tickets. Remember that tickets purchased via the internet are non-transferrable and are valid only for connections with personal identification that is input at purchase, and only on the train and day it has been purchased for.
